1. Inspect water heaters for signs of corrosion, leaks, and ensure they are operating efficiently.

2. Check the functionality of outdoor lights, particularly around entrances and pathways, and replace bulbs or fixtures as needed.

3. Inspect fences, decks, and other outdoor structures for stability and repair as needed.

4. Treat wood structures to protect against moisture and insect damage.

5. Inspect for cracks or damages and repair as needed to prevent tripping hazards.

6. Test generators and other emergency equipment to ensure they are ready for use.

7. Stock up on fuel for generators and gas grills.
